I’m trying to connect my laptop to my home computer via PiKVM V4+. I’ve hooked up power and network to the PiKVM, and connected video and USB from PiKVM (In and OTG respectively) to the laptop (HDMI and USB). I can see the laptop screen on my computer, but keyboard and mouse don’t seem to be working and their icons in PiKVM window are yellow.
I believe he is referring to the target HOST. If you are connecting to a work laptop they often employ software that blocks mass storage devices (and because the PiKVM presents a composite device that is keyboard/mouse/mass storage, the default configuration may get blocked). You should read the Identifying PiKVM on the target host - PiKVM Handbook page and try disabling the mass storage temporarily via the kvmd-otgconf utility in the web terminal and then unplug/replug the PiKVM from the target to see if it is recognized. Thank you all for your help. The problem turned out to be very simple – a bad USB cable. I tried it to connect my phone to the computer, and they don’t see each other either. I’ve got a new cable today, and everything works fine.
